Overview
The east coast of Ireland is often overlooked in favour of the Wild Atlantic. Within an hour’s drive of Dublin you’ll find three of the finest links courses in the country — courses with history, challenge, and a welcome that is hard to match. This five-day trip keeps things tight. Dublin is your base. No long transfers. No wasted hours on the road.
Day 1: Arrival & Portmarnock
Fly into Dublin and head straight for Portmarnock Golf Club — one of the truly great traditional links courses. Wind, sea views, and a course that has challenged the best in the world since 1894.
Day 2: Royal Dublin Golf Club
Bull Island, Dublin Bay. Royal Dublin is a compact, demanding links that rewards accuracy over power. Evening free to explore the capital.
Day 3: Laytown & Bettystown
A coastal links with real character. Compact, fast, and a reminder that great golf doesn’t always need a famous name.
Day 4: County Louth (Baltray)
The jewel of the east coast. Baltray sits at the mouth of the Boyne — vast fairways, natural dunes, and a course that has barely changed since Tom Simpson laid it out.
Day 5: Departure
Transfer to Dublin Airport. A short drive, even after a late check-out.
