Overview
East Lothian is Scotland’s golf coast — 20 courses within 40 minutes of Edinburgh. Muirfield, North Berwick, Gullane, Archerfield, Renaissance. The standard here is extraordinary, and Edinburgh gives you a city base with good restaurants and easy access. Five days is barely enough.
Day 1: Arrival & North Berwick West Links
Fly into Edinburgh. Drive 30 minutes east. North Berwick is one of the oldest and most charming links in Scotland — quirky, brilliant, and full of holes you will remember for life.
Day 2: Muirfield
The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. One of the most demanding tests in links golf. Sixteen Open Championships. Access requires advance planning — we arrange it for you.
Day 3: Gullane No. 1
The view from the top of Gullane Hill — across the Firth of Forth to Fife, to the Bass Rock, to the Lammermuir Hills — is one of the great panoramas in Scottish golf. The course below it matches the view.
Day 4: Renaissance Club
The host of the Genesis Scottish Open. Tom Doak design. Challenging, precise, and a course that rewards every good shot.
Day 5: Departure
Edinburgh is 30 minutes from Gullane. A morning round at any of the area’s more accessible courses before the flight is always possible.
